Love That Destination is a small consulting practise that provides two interrelated services. One area focuses on associations (International and National) and the other on destinations (CVB, venues, hotels and other suppliers) who are interested in Business Tourism. To make it easier we have made two separate sections about these services. With thirty years of experience working inside associations, I decided to change course. I wanted to continue to build upon my passion for enabling change through social interaction and the exchange of ideas.

My early years in community psychology taught me that people need help to change, commonly it is a crisis that prompts change but more positively so does meeting new people, hearing new ideas and being in a different environment. When we travel, we are more open to different ways of thinking. We see our own lives differently, from a different vantage point. Conferences are a place for the exchange of idea and often involve travel.

Ross Robinson, President and Owner
Ross has over 30 years' experience with local, national and international associations including;
- YMCA of Montréal - 6 years
- Volunteer Center of Montréal - 3 years
- Canadian Association of Independent Living Centers - 7 years
- World Federation of Hemophilia - 8 years

While working with the World Federation of Hemophilia, Ross transformed the biennial congress from less than 2,000 delegates to over 3,500 and brought financial success. The meeting was also held in a developing country for the first time and the sponsor, industry partner involvement grew substantially.

In addition to the conferences and meetings that were part of his employment he has helped to organize conferences like Peacemaking and Conflict Resolution - Montreal 1990 (1,200 pax) and Independence '92 - Vancouver (3,000 pax).

Ross continues to work with many national and international associations, association management companies (AMC) and professional congress organizers (PCO) to engineer better meetings, develop destination selection practices and help them work through sensitive change strategies. This keeps him in touch with current trends and issues affecting associations.

During the course of the past five years destinations have hired him on projects for Gold Coast - Australia, Visit Florida, Best Cities, Vancouver, Lyon and South Africa. These initiatives were primarily aimed at improving the destinations' readiness for association site visits; identifying potential bid opportunities, improving how these destinations should engage associations, facilitating meetings with associations, providing workshop leadership, etc.
